Quickly estimate e-commerce shipping costs with our free calculator. Input package dimensions, weight, and destination to compare rates from multiple simulated carriers. Accounts for dimensional weight and insurance for an accurate quote.
Start by selecting your preferred units (Imperial or Metric). Enter your package's total weight and its dimensions (length, width, and height). You can also add a declared value for insurance purposes. Click "Get Shipping Quotes" to see a list of estimated prices and delivery times for different service levels.
Dimensional (or volumetric) weight is a pricing technique used by shipping carriers. They calculate a theoretical weight based on a package's volume (Length x Width x Height). You are then charged based on whichever is greater: the actual weight of the package or its dimensional weight. Our calculator automatically performs this calculation to provide a more realistic cost estimate, especially for large, lightweight items.
No. The prices shown are estimates based on standard formulas for weight, dimensions, and distance. They are intended for budgeting and comparison purposes only. Final shipping costs are determined by the carrier and may be affected by factors like remote area surcharges, fuel costs, duties, and taxes, which are not included in this calculation.
Insurance is calculated based on the "Declared Value" you enter. This is the amount you state the package contents are worth. The calculator adds a small percentage of this value (a typical rate is 1.5%) to the shipping cost to cover insurance. If you do not wish to add insurance, simply leave the Declared Value field blank or at 0.
Yes. You can easily switch between Imperial (inches, pounds) and Metric (centimeters, kilograms) using the "Units" dropdown menu. Simply select the system you're comfortable with, and the calculator will handle all necessary conversions behind the scenes to ensure the calculation is accurate.
